The Hammerwich Observatory is a Solar, Lunar and Planetary Observatory, located near Hammerwich in the U.K.
Most of our observations are recorded using CCD and web cam imaging, but we also take time to open the doors to the pubic and just look at the beauty of the night sky.
We have a number of ongoing projects including:
• Educating the public, of all ages and abilities, about astronomy.
• Compiling a photographic atlas of the Moon.
• Recording observations of the terrestrial planets when favourable.
Next year will be a great year for the observatory,
as we
will be heavenly involved in the
International Year of Astronomy 2009.
We'll be organizing talks to the public,
Scouts, Guides and other interested
societies in astronomy, as well as
carrying-out our other activities.
To keep abreast with what’s on in the
International Year of Astronomy 2009 -
